Beyond the Right Answer: Teaching for Deep Mathematical Understanding

Good morning,

This week on Thinking Deeply About Primary Education, Stuart Welsh explores how we can support students to develop deep mathematical understanding.

His recorded workshop is now available as part of the TDaPE Online and on-demand Conference, alongside a growing library of professional learning sessions. Links to join are below, and as with our in-person events, all funds raised will go to Velindre Cancer Centre.

There is absolutely no expectation to attend or donate, but I’m really pleased that this gives people a way to access the kind of professional learning we usually offer at TDaPE Conferences, especially if attending in person is not possible.

The aim is to keep building the recording library over the next 12 months, raising as much money as we can while offering a high-quality, accessible PD experience.

Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy it.

Huge thanks to everyone who shared last week’s episode. It genuinely helps the podcast reach more thoughtful primary teachers and leaders. If you know someone who values reflecting carefully on teaching, learning or leadership, I’d love it if you passed the link on.

That’s all from me this week. I’d really love to hear what you think about the episode. Leave a comment wherever you listen, or just hit reply and share your thoughts.

Until next time, thanks for listening.
